IPL 2023 RCB vs. GT: In 70 i.e. last league match of IPL 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore team got knocked out of playoff race after losing to Gujarat Titans. The match was played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The start of the match was delayed due to rain. Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mumbai had defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in the last match. In this way, after the defeat against RCB, the Mumbai Indians have secured the ticket for the playoffs.
Playing first, RCB scored 197 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs here. Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 101 from 61 balls in this match and hit his second consecutive century. This was his seventh century in IPL career. He was supported by Anuj Rawat, scoring an unbeaten 23 from 15 balls and this was the reason why RCB’s score reached 197. Faf du Plessis also made important contributions scoring 28 and Michael Bracewell scoring 26 runs. Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami bowled 1-1 wickets. On the other hand, Noor Ahmed achieved two hits on his behalf.
Shubman Gill snatches victory from RCB
Chasing the target of 198 runs, the Gujarat Titans start was not special. Wriddhiman Saha came out after scoring 12 runs. Following this, Vijay Shankar (35 ball 53) and Shubman Gill (52 ball 104 not out) shared a 123-run partnership for the second wicket and took the match away from RCB. Shubman Gill’s century eclipsed RCB star Virat Kohli’s century here. Thanks to this, Gujarat won the match in 19.1 overs. Gujarat’s 6 wicket victory earned them 20 points and kept them on top.
