The Indian Premier League is heating up. Royal Challengers Bangalore just made it to the finals, set to play on June 3rd in Ahmedabad. This isn’t their first time, though – they’ve been to the finals three times before, but never took home the trophy.
Their first finals appearance was back in 2009, when they lost to Deccan Chargers by just 6 runs. Then, in 2011, Chennai Super Kings beat them by a whopping 58 runs. And in 2016, they fell short again, losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets.
This time around, Royal Challengers Bangalore is led by captain Rajat Patidar, and they’re looking to break their curse. They secured their spot in the finals by beating Punjab Kings in the qualifier. But Punjab Kings still has a chance to make it to the finals – they’ll face off against Mumbai Indians, who just beat Gujarat Titans in the eliminator match.
Mumbai Indians has won the trophy five times before, while Punjab Kings has never taken it home. Royal Challengers Bangalore is still waiting for their first win. The question on everyone’s mind: can they finally do it this year?
