Razer has introduced a new controller designed for competitive PlayStation 5 and PC gamers, emphasizing “pixel precision and high customization” at the expense of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
The Raiju V3 Pro features TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) thumbsticks, which the company states offer enhanced accuracy and resistance to unwanted “stick drift.”
The controller also incorporates customizable “Pro HyperTriggers,” allowing players to fine-tune activation distance or engage a rapid-click mode, particularly useful in shooter games.
Four removable “mouse-click back buttons” and additional bumpers are included, providing players with options to adapt the controller to various gaming styles, such as the “claw” grip.
For durability and responsiveness, the device uses premium PBT (double-shot) action buttons and an 8-way D-pad, optimized for quick inputs in genres like fighting games.
Officially licensed for PlayStation 5 and compatible with PC, the Raiju V3 Pro connects wirelessly via a 2.4 GHz dongle or with an included 2-meter USB-C cable.
Users can create and save personalized profiles directly onto the controller, adjusting button mapping and thumbstick sensitivity through dedicated software.
This design choice deliberately omits features like haptic vibration and adaptive triggers, commonly found in standard console controllers. The trade-off aims for a lighter form factor and maximized precision for serious competitive play.
The Raiju V3 Pro is positioned as a strong option for players in demanding genres who prioritize performance over immersive feedback. Casual gamers who value the standard PlayStation controller’s features might find the specialized hardware less appealing.
