In the final match with Ambati Rayudu’s bat, innings of 19 runs on 8 balls played a huge role in the team’s victory. When the IPL trophy was awarded to Chennai Super Kings for the fifth time, it was given to Ambati Rayudu instead of Dhoni. Rayudu was emotional after the team’s win, saying, “It’s a fairytale ending and I couldn’t have asked for more.” It’s incredible, I’m very lucky to have played with this great team.
Ambati Rayudu has won the trophy for the sixth time in IPL history as a player. Prior to Chennai, Rayudu has also been an important part of the Mumbai Indians team.
