At present, Ravindra Jadeja is included in the list of the best all-rounders in all three formats of cricket. Be it Test, ODI or T20 match, this player has performed brilliantly with the ball and bat in all formats. In the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he not only upset the Australian batsmen with his balls, but also played some big innings while batting. He was also the ‘Man of the Match’ in the first match of the ODI series. But did you know that this legendary all-rounder once dreamed of becoming a fast bowler?
Ravindra Jadeja recounted her childhood dream in a conversation with Star Sports. He said that he always wanted to be a fast bowler and that what he liked best was bowling bouncers.
Jadeja said: ‘When I started playing cricket, I wanted to become a fast bowler. I loved fast bowling. When other fast bowlers used to play bouncers, I liked to watch them. Watching him, I also felt that I should bounce bouncer hitters as well, but I didn’t have the speed to become a fast pitcher. Because she couldn’t fast bowl, Jadeja gradually focused on batting and spin bowling and today she ranks among the legendary all-rounders.
Jadeja also said something important during this. She said that this cricket journey of hers has gone through two Mahendras. He said: ‘I had also told Mahi Bhai that my cricket journey has been between my coach Mahendra Singh Chauhan at Jamnagar and my captain MS Dhoni at CSK. In fact, my entire cricketing career so far has been spent between these two.
