Ravichandran Ashwin also made a comeback in the ODI team, he played the last match in 2017

On Friday, the Indian Cricket Control Board (BCCI) announced the Indian team for the three-game ODI series against South Africa. Rohit Sharma is out of shape, which is why KL Rahul has been given the captaincy. On the other hand, fast pitcher Jasprit Bumrah has been named vice-captain. Along with this, veteran Ravichandran Ashwin also returned to the team.

After T20 International, the now veteran Ravichandran Ashwin has also returned to ODI cricket. Ashwin returned to the T20 team after four years since the 2021 T20 World Cup. He made a strong comeback in the shorter format and impressed everyone with his performance. Following this, Ashwin also performed brilliantly in the first two matches of the T20 series against New Zealand.

Ashwin played his last ODI on June 30, 2017 against the West Indies. Ashwin has 150 windows in his name at 111 ODI for India. During this, he has run races with an economy of just 4.92.

A three-game ODI series will be played between India and South Africa starting January 19. After this, the second ODI will be played on January 21 and the third ODI will be played on January 23.
