Ratatan PC Early Access Postponed Indefinitely for Game Enhancements Based on Demo Feedback

The buzz around “Ratatan” during the recent Steam Next Fest was undeniable. Gamers eagerly jumped into the demo, and while the early feedback was mostly positive, the team at Ratata Arts clearly wants to polish their rhythm-action adventure even further. They’ve decided to push back the game’s Early Access launch.

This decision wasn’t made lightly. The developers shared in a recent announcement that the original release date of July 25th is now off the table. They haven’t set a new date yet, promising to share it once it’s firm. The main reason for this delay? An overwhelming amount of player feedback. The demo saw more than 200,000 downloads, generating over 2,000 pieces of feedback for the team to sift through.

Ratata Arts looked closely at what players had to say. They found several areas where the game could really shine with a bit more work. For instance, many players felt that:

  • The starting tutorials and in-game menus were a bit tricky to understand.
  • The roguelike structure, which involves randomized levels, and the rewards for playing weren’t quite hitting the mark.
  • Some of the “Ratatan” creatures couldn’t use their special skills as expected, which could be frustrating.
  • The game’s overall look and feel, its presentation, needed more punch.
  • Content, pacing, and the general flow in the middle parts of the game could use a good polish.

The team acknowledged that they might not be able to fix every single point before the game launches. However, they are committed to making as many improvements as possible. They simply need a little more time to bring the game up to their desired standard.

“Ratatan” will first launch in Early Access on PC through Steam. After it’s fully developed and out of Early Access, it will then make its way to consoles. Keep an eye out for news on a solid new Early Access date. We’ll be sure to update you when Ratata Arts shares it.
