Recently, “Animal” actress Rashmika Mandanna became a victim of a deep fake. In fact, a morphed video of Rashmika Mandanna went viral on social media in which a woman with Rashmika’s face got into an elevator in a fitted outfit. After watching the video, it became clear that it was a deepfake video. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan then took to microblogging site X and demanded legal action against it. This had caught everyone’s attention. Later, Kajol and now Alia Bhatt also became the target of deepfakes.
Rashmika Mandanna, who came to Hyderabad to promote her upcoming film Animal, spoke about DeepFK again and also called it very scary. The actress also thanked the people who raised their voices for her and gave her their support after her deepfake video went viral.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, Rashmika said, “Deepfakes have been around for some time and we have normalized them, but that is not right.” She further added, “I always thought that if I decide to speak out and to say that’s not right, then who cares? That’s why I’m glad that people in the film industry supported me. I now understand how important it is to speak up. I would like to ask women to seek help in such cases.
Let us tell you that this statement from Rashmika Mandanna came at a time when a video of Alia Bhatt’s changing face has now gone viral on social media. In the video, Alia Bhatt’s face has been edited over that of another woman. In the video, a girl is wearing a blue floral halter co-ord set in which Alia’s face can be seen as she points at the camera. Earlier, a deepfake video of Bollywood actress Kajol had also surfaced on the internet. Previously, the action sequence of Tiger-3 was also morphed.
Talking about Rashmika Mandanna’s work front, the actress is busy promoting her upcoming film Animal these days. Apart from Rashmika, Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol have played important roles in this film. This film hits theaters on December 1st.
