Rapper Poorstacy, a Florida resident, has died at the age of 26. His death followed an alleged "incident" in Boca Raton, Florida.
The musician, whose real name was Carlito Milfort Jr., died on Saturday, November 29. The Boca Raton Police Department confirmed his passing on Monday, December 1.
The incident occurred at 2899 N. Federal Highway, the location of the Boca By the Sea hotel. Police spokesperson Dylan Huberman provided these details.
Boca Raton Fire Rescue arrived at the hotel shortly after 6 a.m. Lieutenant Karl Richards confirmed Poorstacy was transported to Delray Medical Center as a trauma alert.
An employee at the hotel told TMZ that Poorstacy had been staying there for 10 days. He reportedly checked in with a woman and a young child.
However, no one else was injured or hospitalized during the incident. Poorstacy was the sole individual taken for medical attention.
The official cause of death has not yet been confirmed by authorities.
Poorstacy was known for blending emo rap, punk rap, and punk rock genres. He frequently collaborated with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
Barker honored the late rapper on his Instagram stories. He wrote, "Rest in peace, you will never be forgotten." The tribute included a video of them performing Poorstacy’s 2020 song "Hills Have Eyes."
Barker also posted a video for their 2020 track "Choose Life." The artists previously collaborated on the 2020 song "Nothing Left."
Poorstacy also worked with Bring Me the Horizon frontman Oli Sykes on multiple projects. This included their 2021 song "Knife Party."
Sykes, 39, also paid tribute to the Palm Beach, Florida native. He shared a photo of them together with the caption "R.I.P." and a black heart emoji.
Poorstacy spoke fondly of his friendship with Sykes in a 2021 interview with Revolver. He mentioned Sykes sending him clothes and handwritten letters. They also played Call of Duty together until the early morning hours.

Poorstacy grew up moving between Queens and Brooklyn before his family moved to Florida. He faced challenges during his adolescence. He also spent time in juvenile detention centers.
"I was very violent," Poorstacy explained about his youth. "I would act irrationally. I would either hurt myself for attention, or hurt someone else for attention."
Beyond his collaborations, Poorstacy contributed to the soundtrack for the 2020 film Bill & Ted Face the Music. This work earned him a Grammy nomination.
His most recent solo track, "Nothing belongs to you," was released in July. In October, Poorstacy collaborated with Paris Shadows on the song "Last Time Around."
Poorstacy’s last social media activity was in August. He posted photos on Instagram sitting in a car, with a young child visible in one image. The caption read, "Cause baby I’m a Beamer boy 🙄."
