Actor Ranvir Shorey, known for his thoughtful performances in a handful of carefully chosen films, recently shared some candid thoughts about his personal life. It seems the star, who divorced actress Konkona Sen Sharma, isn’t feeling particularly lucky when it comes to matters of the heart. In fact, he believes now is not the right moment for him to pursue love.
Shorey often speaks openly about his life, beyond just his roles on screen. During a recent chat with Digital Commentary, he dove into his views on love and modern relationships. He admitted he’s still exploring dating apps. However, he quickly added that he’s felt unlucky in love since he was just 19 years old.
A Changing World for Love
Ranvir shared his observation that as traditional roles for men and women are being redefined, a gap seems to be growing between them. He pointed to disturbing news stories. He mentioned reports of wives allegedly harming husbands with ex-lovers, or husbands allegedly harming wives with their own families. “I’m already not lucky in love,” he stated plainly. “So, I feel this isn’t a good time to invest in it.”
No Real Interest in Dating Apps
When asked about his use of dating apps, Ranvir explained his profile was mainly out of curiosity. He wanted to see if he might meet someone new. Beyond that, he holds little interest. He used a clever analogy, saying, “When the market is down, investors don’t put in money, right? So the market is down right now, don’t put anything in.”
He continued with a humorous, yet pointed, observation about today’s world. “Nowadays, it’s a time where a wife might say her ex-boyfriend is also family. You wouldn’t be able to argue, because ten people would support her, asking what’s wrong with that?” His advice for these “recession” times? “Sit at home and do bodybuilding.”
