Ranjit Recounts Being Thrown Out by Father for Molesting Rakhi in Film Debut

Ranjit, a veteran actor known for his iconic villainous roles, has had a long and storied career in Bollywood. He’s played the bad guy, clashing with heroes and harassing heroines on screen. But behind the scenes, Ranjit’s family wasn’t always thrilled with his on-screen antics. He once shared a story about how his father kicked him out of the house after his role in the movie “Sharmili.” Ranjit appeared on Kapil Sharma’s show to talk about the incident.

Family Fallout

Ranjit’s father was furious with him for harassing actress Raakhee in “Sharmili.” The scene showed him tearing her clothes and pulling her hair. His dad felt Ranjit had brought shame to the family. He questioned Ranjit’s choice of role, suggesting he could have played a doctor, engineer, or police officer instead. Ranjit’s father was shocked that his son would portray someone who harasses a girl.

Ranjit has also talked about a scene from the movie “Prem Pratigya” where he had to harass a young Madhuri Dixit. In a recent interview with Vikky Lalwani, Ranjit recalled that Maturin was new to the industry and had heard about his tough-guy image. She was nervous about working with him. The scene required Ranjit to harass Madhuri on a cart. He was in a hurry to finish the shoot and hadn’t realized how nervous Madhuri was.

Reassuring Madhuri

Ranjit went out of his way to comfort Madhuri and reassure her that he was a nice person in real life. He told her that he understood her concerns and that she could trust him. Veroo Devgan, their fight master, was present during the scene. After Ranjit’s reassurance, Madhuri agreed to do the scene.

Ranjit’s story highlights the complexities of his on-screen persona and his real-life relationships. Despite playing villains on screen, he’s shown a more nuanced side through his interactions with his co-stars.
