Senior Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane, who has been in poor form for some time now, will play Ranji cricket. Rahane was included in the Mumbai Ranji squad for the upcoming Ranji season on Tuesday. Mumbai, the 41-time Ranji Trophy champions, were placed in Group D along with Saurashtra, Goa and Odisha. The team will play its league match in Ahmedabad.

Mumbai’s senior selection committee named young starter Prithvi Shaw as the captain of the 21-man squad.
