Ranieri Rejects Italy National Team Coaching Offer

Claudio Ranieri turned down the chance to become Italy’s new coach. He was in line to replace Luciano Spalletti. Ranieri coached Roma last season and planned to step down to become a consultant for the club.

He thanked the federation’s president, Gravina, for the offer. “It’s a huge honor,” Ranieri said, “but I’ve thought about it and decided to focus on my new role with Roma.” The club’s owners, the Friedkins, supported his decision.

Now, Stefano Pioli is the top candidate for the job. He currently coaches Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr, according to Sky Italia.
