Rani Mukerji Calls for Unity, Digital Safety to Combat Cybercrime Against Women, Children

National Award-winning actress Rani Mukerji is sounding the alarm on cyber crime. She’s calling on everyone to unite and fight back against online threats. Rani believes cyber crime is a serious danger for women and children in our world of digital platforms. She stressed that it’s up to all of us to stand together and overcome this growing problem.

Rani Jumps from Film Set to Campaign Launch

Rani recently made a special appearance at the inauguration of Cyber Awareness Month 2025. This event was held at Mumbai’s State Police Headquarters. She shared her joy and honor at being part of such an important gathering. Rani mentioned that throughout her acting career, she’s been lucky enough to play strong women. These characters often fight injustice and protect those who can’t protect themselves. It felt amazing, she said, especially since she rushed straight from filming “Mardaani 3” to be there. She also praised the Maharashtra Police for their fantastic initiative.

A Mother’s Plea for Online Safety

Rani spoke from the heart about how cyber crimes, especially against women and kids, are quietly increasing in our homes. As a woman and a mother, she truly understands how crucial it is for families to be aware. She explained that real safety starts when families know how to stay safe online and where to get help if something goes wrong. Rani also thanked Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, ACS Iqbal Singh Chahal, and DGP Rashmi Shukla. She appreciated them for making cyber security such a high priority.

She highlighted how helpful the Dial 1930 and Dial 1945 helplines are for everyone. Rani noted that as an actress, she can tell stories on screen. But as a woman, a mother, and a citizen, she feels a bigger responsibility. She believes it’s our shared duty to ensure no child suffers in silence. We must make sure no woman feels unsafe and no family loses its peace because of cyber crime. Rani urged everyone to make a promise today: to be watchful, to speak up, and to come together for a safer online world.
