Rangers secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Livingston in the Scottish Premiership, a result that provides a modest domestic boost ahead of their critical, winless Europa League clash against Sporting de Braga on Thursday.
The Glasgow club remains at the bottom of its Europa League group, having failed to secure any points in four matches this season. They will host Portuguese side Sporting de Braga, currently fifth in the overall Europa League standings with nine points, on Thursday evening.
Englishman Emmanuel Fernandez opened the scoring for Rangers in the ninth minute. Ivorian Mohammed Diomandé then netted the decisive goal in the 78th minute. New Zealander Tete Yengi had equalized for Livingston in the 18th minute.
In the Scottish Premiership, Rangers holds fourth place with 21 points. They trail league leader Hearts by nine points and second-placed Celtic by two points, although Celtic has played one fewer game.
Livingston remains at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table, currently in 12th position with eight points.
