Randy Arozarena and the Tampa Bay Rays (30-9) have started the 2023 Major League season in spectacular fashion and the player never tires of hitting home runs.
During the second game of the four-game series against the New York Yankees, the Mexican baseball player recorded the tenth home run of the season. The Cuban-born hit a Gerrit Cole fastball that traveled 98.1 mph and sent it into the left-field stands.
Arozarena had never hit a home run off Gerritt Cole. At the moment, the game is 2-1 in favor of the Rays after solo homers by Anthony Rizzo, for New York, and José Sirí, for Tampa Bay.
For life, Arozarena has 58 home runs in the MLB and three of them have been at Yankee Stadium. In total, the outifelder has dedicated seven home runs to the ‘Bronx Bombers’.
The season home run leader is Pete Alonso, of the New York Mets. The 28-year-old infielder has made 13 four-cornered hits after playing 39 games.
