Randeep Hooda Reveals Rejecting Renowned Director Ram Gopal Varma’s Film Offer in Person

Randeep Hooda is making waves with his villainous role in Suneel Darshan’s upcoming film “Jaat,” starring Suneel Darshan. This isn’t the first time Randeep has turned heads with his performances.

Randeep recently opened up about a past encounter with a renowned director that could have changed his career trajectory. In an interview with Shubhkarman Mishra on his podcast, Randeep revealed that he was once offered a role by Ram Gopal Varma, a director he greatly admires, but he turned it down.

The Turning Point

Randeep’s admiration for Ram Gopal Varma began after watching “Company.” He wanted to work with the acclaimed director and approached him for a role. However, when Ram Gopal Varma offered Randeep a police officer role in “Ab Tak Chhappan,” Randeep was keen on playing the character inspired by Nana Patekar. Despite the director’s offer, Randeep declined, citing his desire for a different role. Ram Gopal Varma appreciated Randeep’s attitude, which later led to Randeep being cast in “D” (2005).

Interestingly, during the time Randeep was struggling to find work, Ram Gopal Varma supported him financially, providing a monthly stipend of around ₹35,000. This gesture helped Randeep focus on his acting career without the burden of financial instability.

Randeep has proven his versatility as an actor, taking on a wide range of roles. He has appeared as both heroes and villains, showcasing his talent and adaptability. As a director, Randeep has also ventured into making his own film, “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” (2024), further cementing his presence in the industry.
