Veteran actor Sudhir Dalvi, renowned for his portrayal of Sai Baba, is currently facing a severe health crisis. Dalvi was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on October 8. He is undergoing treatment for severe sepsis, a life-threatening infection that has left his condition serious.
His family has issued an appeal to the entertainment industry and well-wishers for financial assistance to cover the escalating medical expenses.
The cost of his treatment has already exceeded 1,000,000 Indian Rupees, approximately $12,000 USD. Projections indicate these expenses could rise to 1,500,000 Indian Rupees, roughly $18,000 USD, as his treatment continues.
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, sister of actor Ranbir Kapoor and daughter of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, has stepped forward to contribute to Dalvi’s medical fund. She publicly confirmed her support by commenting on a social media post detailing the actor’s health.
Kapoor Sahni wrote, “Done, I wish him a speedy recovery,” on the appeal for help.
Her gesture of aid, however, drew an online troll. One user questioned her motives, accusing her of seeking “footage” by making her contribution known.

Kapoor Sahni responded to the criticism with a composed statement. She stated, “Not everything in life is about showing off.”
She further added that “Helping someone in need, according to your capacity, is the biggest blessing.” Her dignified reply has since garnered significant attention online.
Dalvi is a respected figure in both Indian cinema and television. His most celebrated role was that of Sai Baba in the popular 1977 film ‘Shirdi Ke Sai Baba,’ which brought him widespread recognition.
He also played Rishi Vashistha in Ramanand Sagar’s iconic 1987 series ‘Ramayan.’ His extensive filmography includes appearances in movies such as ‘Junoon’ (1978) and ‘Chandni’ (1989). Dalvi’s last known film roles were in ‘Excuse Me’ (2003) and ‘Woh Hue Na Hamare’ (2006).
