Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Animal’ hit the theaters on December 1 and became a box office hit immediately after its release. With a first day gross of over 60 crore, it has become Ranbir Kapoor’s highest opening film to date. Previously, the record was held by his film ‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’, which opened at Rs 36.42 crore.
After the outstanding performance on the first day, the raffle for “Animal” also took place on the second day. The film made more sales over the weekend than on the first day. According to Sacknilk’s report, Animal had earned Rs 63.8 crore on the first day but Rs 66 crore on the second day. With this, the film has crossed Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office in just two days and the film’s total collection has reached Rs 129.80 crore.
“Animal” pleased the box office so much with its performance that it broke many records on its second day. Ranbir Kapoor’s film easily broke the record of the blockbuster film ‘Jawaan’. While ‘Animal’ earned a handsome income of Rs 66 crore on the second day, ‘Jawan’ only earned a revenue of Rs 53.23 crore on the second day. Apart from this, the second day collection of Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ (43.08) and Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger 3’ (59.25) was also much lower than that of ‘Animal’.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film Animal is the story of a toxic relationship between a father and his son. Apart from Ranbir, the film also stars Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol in the lead roles.
