Fans of the upcoming film Ramayana expressed significant disappointment today. Many had eagerly anticipated a first look at actor Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Ram on Diwali. However, filmmakers released a video that did not reveal any character looks.
This decision has led to widespread dissatisfaction among the film’s fanbase. Some fans have resorted to sharing AI-generated images of Ranbir Kapoor in character. Others are voicing their frustration in comments across social media platforms.
Nitesh Tiwari is directing the ambitious project. Ranbir Kapoor is set to star as Ram, with Sai Pallavi cast as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Fans had particularly hoped for a glimpse of these lead actors.
Despite the lack of character reveals, the Ramayana team did share an official video. This post, made on X (formerly Twitter), displayed the film’s title, ‘Ramayanam.’ The video also depicted a cosmic scene.
The filmmakers announced the first part of the film is scheduled for a 2026 release. It is confirmed that the epic will be presented in two parts. The production is being touted as India’s most expensive film to date.
Legendary composers Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman are developing the film’s music. The social media post accompanying the video simply stated, "Happy Diwali."
