The Bollywood personality confirmed her divorce from Durrani. Their marriage concluded after a period of significant public disputes and legal battles.
Sawant emphasized her wish for Durrani’s name to be omitted from her narrative. “First of all, I want to tell you that he was an ex,” she stated. “Don’t take his name, because I am divorced.”
This candid interaction was captured in a widely circulated social media video. A person was questioning her about the mutual understanding regarding her case with Adil.
Sawant revealed the steep cost of her freedom. She stated that she received the final divorce papers from court recently.
“I had to pay a very high price to come back to India,” she explained. This included abandoning 3.5 crore rupees, approximately $420,000 USD.
She confirmed Durrani had taken this sum. She also possessed a check as proof.
Before the judge, she was compelled to withdraw all legal cases she had filed against him in India. “I had to give up all the money,” she reiterated.
Sawant highlighted a crucial clause in their divorce settlement. “Don’t take his name,” she urged, “because it is clearly written that neither will he take my name, nor will I take his.”
