Hrithik Roshan said during an interview with the BBC that father Rakesh Roshan had put everything on the line to make his debut film. He said that the budget of ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ was more than Rs 3 crores and for that amount of money the father had mortgaged the house and car. I was not aware of this. Father had done this last time when he was making the film Khudgarj under his production house and his decision turned out to be successful both times.

Hrithik Roshan played a dual role in the movie Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. He played the role of poor boy Rohit and rich boy Raj, but Hrithik Roshan was not satisfied with the role of him. During this interview, Hrithik said: ‘I asked my father how I could tell people that I can do something. I’m laughing, dancing and wearing nice clothes. I think this movie belongs to a girl.
