Rajiv Thakur: Yash Chopra’s Clout Couldn’t Establish Uday Chopra’s Acting Career

Bollywood’s latest chat has everyone talking, thanks to comedian-actor Rajiv Thakur. He recently dropped some very honest thoughts about Uday Chopra’s film career. People are buzzing about what he said.

Rajiv Thakur, a good friend of Kapil Sharma, often shares his journey in the entertainment world. During a recent chat with Hindi Rush, he spoke candidly. He opened up about Uday Chopra’s time on screen, especially his role in the “Dhoom” movies. He also shared insights into his own bond with Kapil Sharma.

Building a Path, Not Just Walking It

Rajiv explained his personal philosophy, saying he has always carved his own way. Even back in Amritsar, he wrote and performed his own plays. He even pushed his friend Chandan Prabhakar into the “Laughter Challenge” auditions. Chandan wasn’t keen, but Rajiv insisted they join as a team. He proudly stated that he still helps friends get into the spotlight, but only if he truly believes in their talent.

The Truth About Talent

Then came the big statement about Uday Chopra. Rajiv argued that no amount of help can make someone succeed if they lack the specific talent needed. He used Uday as a prime example. “What didn’t Yash Chopra have?” Rajiv asked. “He had money, power, a big studio, and great directors. Yet, Uday’s acting career wasn’t meant to be.” Rajiv clarified that Uday wasn’t talentless. He just had talent for other things, not necessarily acting.

Rajiv extended this idea to Aditya Chopra, Uday’s brother. He wondered what would happen if Aditya had insisted on being an actor. “He would have flopped too,” Rajiv guessed. Aditya, he noted, found his true calling as a producer and director. It highlights that even with all the advantages, personal aptitude is key.

Friends and Personal Journeys

Rajiv also touched on why he doesn’t appear in every episode of Kapil’s show. He admitted that Kapil might bring him on occasionally. But if the channel doesn’t want him, there’s nothing he can do. It even took him eight years to become a regular on the show. He said there’s more to the world than just Kapil Sharma’s show. Rajiv is busy with his own career and has many other ways to use his skills. He thinks it would be foolish to put all his efforts into just one basket. Despite this, he confirmed that he and Kapil remain close friends and meet often.

Uday Chopra’s Filmography

Uday Chopra is the son of famous filmmaker Yash Chopra. He gained some fame, but less than many expected. He is most recognized for his role in the popular “Dhoom” film series. Beyond that, he also appeared in movies like “Mohabbatein,” “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai,” and “Mujhse Dosti Karogi.”
