Rajat Patidar becomes second-fastest Indian to score 1000 runs in IPL history.

Rajat Patidar’s big moment came in a tough game for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He scored 23 runs off 18 balls, with one six and one four, to reach 1000 runs in the IPL. This made him the second-fastest Indian to hit this milestone, needing just 30 innings.

A Look Back at Patidar’s Journey

Patidar has played 30 innings across 34 matches. His highest score is 112, which is also his only IPL century so far. He has hit nine half-centuries and has 69 fours and 64 sixes.

The RCB captain is now third on the list of Indians with the fewest balls to 1000 IPL runs. He achieved this in 626 balls. Virender Sehwag (604 balls) and Yusuf Pathan (617 balls) are ahead of him.

The match against Punjab Kings didn’t go RCB’s way. They batted first and struggled. Top players were out for low scores. Tim David’s 50 helped them reach 95. RCB’s bowlers put up a good fight, but Nehal Wadhera’s 33 for Punjab changed the game. Punjab won by five wickets with 11 balls to spare.

Rajat Patidar joins an elite group of players who have reached 1000 IPL runs quickly. Here’s how some Indian players stack up:

  • Sai Sudharsan – 25 innings
  • Rajat Patidar – 30 innings
  • Sachin Tendulkar – 31 innings
  • Ruturaj Gaikwad – 31 innings
  • Tilak Varma – 33 innings
