Rainbow Six Siege X Launches June 10 with New Dual Front Mode

Get ready for the ultimate tactical experience as Ubisoft announces the launch of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege X, the game’s most significant update yet. This exciting new chapter will be available to play for free starting June 10, 2025, on Ubisoft+, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (via Steam and Ubisoft Connect), and Amazon Luna.

The update introduces a brand-new mode called Dual Front, a permanent 6v6 mode that revolutionizes the gameplay by having players capture and defend three enemy areas in the specially designed District map. With 35 playable operators to choose from, regardless of being an attacker or defender, players can utilize unique abilities and gadgets in ways never seen before in the series. Additionally, a Neutral Zone feature offers bonus rewards for successful team strategies, but beware – it can also put your team at risk of losing crucial positions.

Enhanced Gameplay and Accessibility

The Dual Front mode includes a respawn system and the ability to switch operators during the game, making it accessible to both new and veteran players while retaining the game’s strategic depth. The mode’s design ensures a more dynamic experience, allowing for more flexible gameplay and greater emphasis on teamwork.

The game’s graphics will also receive a significant upgrade, with improved lighting, shadows, and textures on classic maps like Clubhouse, Chalet, Border, Bank, and Kafe, all supporting 4K resolution. New maps will also be introduced, with each season bringing fresh updates.

New Dimensions to Strategy

Several new features will add depth to the game’s strategy, including:

  • Destructible objects such as fire extinguishers, gas pipes, and metal detectors, which can be used to outmaneuver opponents.
  • A new rappelling system, enabling smoother movements, including horizontal runs and vaulting over corners.
  • Enhanced sound effects, with improved sound propagation and source identification, making it easier to pinpoint enemy locations.
  • UI improvements and a new player onboarding process, featuring tutorials and a training mode for newcomers, along with a new communication wheel that simplifies team communication.

Anti-Cheating Measures and Player Protection

The update will include R6 ShieldGuard, a comprehensive anti-cheating system that integrates all of Siege’s protection methods, allowing for real-time security updates without the need for maintenance.

Free Access and Beta Testing

Starting June 10, new players can access Rainbow Six Siege for free, with immediate access to Dual Front, Unranked, and Quick Play modes, and the ability to unlock up to 26 operators through in-game progression. Upgrading to the Premium Edition unlocks Ranked and Siege Cup modes upon reaching level 50, along with additional operators.

Before the official launch of Siege X on June 10, fans can catch professional players competing on the revamped maps in the RELOAD esports tournament, taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from May 8 to 18.

The Dual Front mode is available for testing in the Siege X Beta until March 19 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Ubisoft Connect), accessible through Twitch Drops without needing to own the base game. For more details on joining the beta, visit rainbow6.com/SiegeX-closed-beta.
