Rain Washes Out Hyderabad-Delhi IPL Match, SRH Faces Elimination if Called Off

Rain is putting the brakes on the crucial IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals. SRH bowled Delhi out for just 133 runs, but the second innings hasn’t begun yet due to the downpour. If the match is called off, SRH’s playoff hopes will be dashed. Hyderabad is experiencing heavy rain, which began around 9:30 PM, and there’s no sign of it letting up. SRH needs a win to stay in the playoff race, and a no-result would eliminate them.

Delhi put up a target of 134 for SRH to chase. Delhi’s batting struggles began early, with Karun Nair getting out without scoring. Pat Cummins claimed Nair’s wicket. Faf du Plessis also fell short, scoring just 6 runs. Abhishek Porel, batting third, managed 8 runs off 10 balls before Cummins got him out too. These early wickets put Delhi in a tough spot – 15 runs for 3 wickets. KL Rahul and Axar Patel were expected to turn things around, but they failed to make a significant impact. Rahul scored 10 runs off 14 balls before Jaydev Unadkat dismissed him. Axar Patel got 6 runs off 7 balls, with Harshal Patel claiming his wicket. Delhi’s score was now 29 for 5.

Vipraj Singh and Tristan Stubbs formed a partnership, adding 33 runs together. Vipraj got 18 runs off 17 balls, including one four and one six, before getting run out. He sacrificed his wicket for Stubbs. Delhi’s score was 62 for 6, but Ashutosh Sharma launched a counter-attack. He got 41 runs off 26 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes. Stubbs remained unbeaten on 41 runs, having hit four fours. The pair added 66 runs in 45 balls.
