Rahul Dravid statement before Ahmedabad test: “Not only India, everywhere the field is becoming a result”

The first three test matches of the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy were over in 3-3 days. There were spin-friendly pitches in all three games, with the spinners getting a lot of help from day one. There was a lot of fuss about these releases. In the third test, the Indore court was also given a poor rating by the ICC. Now, the head coach of Team India has spoken about such throwing being done in India.

Rahul Dravid says that pitches are being prepared which give results in Test cricket not only in India but all over the world, this is being done to get more points in the World Test Championship. This is the reason why the host teams are preparing releases based on their strengths.

Dravid said: ‘All the teams want the result at home or they should say they want to maintain their good performance at home. If the match is a draw, you get 4 points in WTC and you get 12 points if you win. That is why everyone would like to get the result in their favor in the test. If you look at the last 3 or 4 years, you’ll find that ball fields around the world have been challenging to hit. This is not the case only in India. In this case, you need to understand the actual situation of what are the benchmarks and standards for test releases now.

Rahul Dravid said: ‘It must be understood that now a good performance in such fields can reverse the direction of the game. We can understand this from the Rohit century in the first test. Here you have to support your hitters. You have to explain that this is a challenging course and it is the same for both teams, take it as an opportunity and do well. No need to score a double century here, innings of 50-60 runs can also be decisive in these circumstances.
