Rahane’s response to Gautam Gambhir before the Test match against New Zealand said this

Team India hitter Ajinkya Rahane has been battling bad form for the last few games. His bat was silent during the tour of England. It could only do half a century. Rahane will now be the captain of Team India in the first test against New Zealand from 25 November. Rahane’s focus is to contribute to the team, whether it’s 40 or 50 races.

The Indian team will play a two-test series against New Zealand, starting Thursday. Regular captain Virat Kohli has rested for the first test. He will assume the captaincy in the second test match. Recently while talking about this series, former starter Gautam Gambhir had said that Rahane is very lucky that he is still a part of Team India.

When Ajinkya Rahane was asked about Gautam Gambhir’s statement at the press conference, he said that it is an honor to lead the country as he is focusing on doing his best without worrying too much about the future. Rahane said: ‘I’m not worried about my form. My job is to think about how I can contribute to the team and contribution does not mean that you have to make 100 in every game. 30-40 runs or 50-60 runs are very important at critical times. I always think of the team and I never think of myself. I feel very lucky and grateful, it is an honor for me to lead the country. My goal is to do my best and that’s what I’m going to try.

When asked about keeping a balance between captaincy and batting, Ajinkya Rahane said he keeps the two apart based on the situation of the game. Rahane further said that when I’m hitting, I’m not there as a captain, I’m there as a hitter, so I’m just concentrating on hitting. But once my hitting is done and we’re fielding, then the captaincy begins. It’s as simple as that. When we’re fielding, I wonder what kind of game plan we have or what kind of strategy we have. Concerns about Ajinkya Rahane’s form have continued since India’s victory in Australia under his leadership. In the last 15 rounds, he has scored just 644 runs with an average of 24.76.
