Racing receives Aucas from Ecuador with the aim of being at the top of Group A

Racing Club will receive Aucas from Ecuador in search of a victory that will leave them alone at the top of Group A of the Copa Libertadores de América. The match, valid for the second day, will be played from 7:00 p.m. at the Presidente Perón de Avellaneda stadium, will be refereed by Uruguayan Christian Ferreyra and will be broadcast by the Fox Sports cable signal.

The “Academy” has three units after the 2-0 victory against Ñublense from Chile, in the debut of the maximum continental tournament played last Wednesday as a visitor at the Municipal Mayoresa Ester Roa Rebolledo stadium.

While at the local level it comes from a 1-1 draw against Independiente in the Avellaneda classic, it drags two previous defeats (3-1 against Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata and 1-0 against Newell’s Old Boys) and is located in the ninth position with 18 points, 12 behind the leader River Plate (30).

In the event that those from Avellaneda achieve a victory against the Ecuadorians, they will remain as absolute leaders of their area with an ideal score awaiting the commitment for the third date against Flamengo from Brazil in the Cilindro de Avellaneda.

The coach of the Albiceleste team, Fernando Gago, will have to rearm the midfield zone since he will not be able to count on two players whom he considers starters: Anibal Moreno and Tomás Avilés.

Moreno suffers from a tear on the back of his left thigh that has sidelined him in recent games, while Avilés ended the match against the “red devils” with a muscular overload.
