Quico Tabar confronts bank owners

The director of Casinos and Games of Chance of the Ministry of Finance, Quico Tabar, considered the protest called by the betting banking sector an “unnecessary provocation” and pointed out that they respond to the purpose of some of staying in disorder so as not to declare what they have or who the real owners are.

In a video sent to the media, Quico Tabar explained that “as the deadline to present his sworn statement approaches, they promote protests in front of the National Palace, because the purpose of some is to maintain the disorder in which this Government found it, with thousands of banks and illegal points of sale, premium payments, sale of numbers by mobile devices and other similar aspects, things that have been dragging on for years and that precisely this Government wants to regularize.

He pointed out that he is aware of everything that this sector implies, as well as the threads that unite them and the threads that move them (political and business), and despite the methods that he understands must be applied, he has tried to be as prudent as possible, facilitated a meeting between them, avoiding conflict situations “because I know that it is about a conflict of interests, but I have come to the conclusion, and they know because I say it, that what some want, being handled like puppets, is confrontation and taking advantage of the situation nobody knows for what purposes”.

Power and strength
The official indicated that he does not doubt that there are sectors that want to regularize themselves, but that there are others that consider themselves strong and powerful and do not want it. He added that they themselves have accused members of the Council of contributing millions of dollars to buy sentences in favor of certain sectors and they pose as victims to claim the Government.
