Queen Elizabeth’s funeral procession moves to St George’s Chapel

Queen Elizabeth’s funeral is underway in London, with the funeral procession leaving Westminster Abbey for her final resting place, St George’s Chapel.

The Queen will be laid to rest at the King George VI Memorial Chapel at 11:30 Pakistan time, with the announcement of the end of the Queen’s reign.

Members of the royal family attended a vigil in Westminster Abbey, with the funeral being broadcast live on big screens.

On Monday, the coffin was moved from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey in an official Royal Navy gun carriage, with the new monarch, Prince William, Harry and senior members of the royal family walking in procession.

As the prayer service in Westminster Abbey ended with a bugle, life across the UK came to a halt for two minutes.

After which the casket was taken in a procession to Wellington Arch in London’s Hyde Park Corner. Every minute, London’s Big Ben was rung, followed by a gun salute from Hyde Park.

The Queen’s royal crown will be removed from her for the last time in St. George’s Chapel at 8 pm Pakistani time.

Millions of people lined the streets of London for the final viewing of the coffin of the Queen of Great Britain. Train services and roads around Westminster Abbey have been closed.

On the occasion of the Queen’s funeral, there is a public holiday across the country and the funeral has been given official status.

Earlier on Monday morning at 6 o’clock in the Westminster Hall, the viewing time of Queen Elizabeth’s coffin ended and the doors of the hall were closed to the public.

According to foreign news agency, millions of people visited here during 5 days to see the coffin of Queen Elizabeth in Westminster Hall.

During this time, many kilometers long queues were seen and people traveled thousands of miles to reach this place.
