Day to remember in Puerto Portals. For the first time, the sailboats competing this week in the 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week & TP52 20th Anniversary Invitational competed together and hence up to 16 boats were those that gathered in the starting line. The winner of the event was the ‘Quantum’ by owner Doug DeVos followed by ‘Air is Blue’, second, and ‘XIO’, third.
The day this Friday began punctually, at 1:00 p.m., with a 13 knot embat and this caused a fast start with the ‘Phoenix’ and the Beau Geste ‘as the main protagonists. Both ships touched and after that, they decided to return to port to repair the scratches on their sailboats. Of course, neither of them will have problems starting this Saturday and finishing the regatta with better sensations. Already focused on the first sleeve, the ‘Quantum’ was the best and won smoothly. As for the second, the monologue was starred by the ‘Bronenosec’, who dominated from start to finish followed by the ‘Provezza’ and a ‘Quantum’ that thanks to this position secured the victory in the TP52 20th anniversary regatta.
This Saturday the last two tests of the 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week & TP52 20th Anniversary Invitational will take place and it will be then when the winners will be decided. In 52 SUPER SERIES, the ‘Sled’ is the leader, with a point of advantage over the ‘Quantum’.
