An Australian man who accosted Ariana Grande on the red carpet for Wicked: For Good in Singapore has been formally charged in court. The incident occurred on Thursday, November 13, as Grande walked alongside co-stars Cynthia Erivo and Michelle Yeoh. This update was reported on November 14, 2025, at 11:36 a.m. ET.
Johnson Wen, 26, known online as Pyjama Man, faces a public nuisance charge in Singapore. If convicted, he could be fined up to $1,540 USD (S$2,000). Wen reportedly intends to plead guilty, according to local media outlets.
Viral videos show Wen jumping a barricade and running towards Grande, 32, hugging her and repeatedly jumping during the film’s premiere. Cynthia Erivo, 38, quickly intervened along with security personnel to pull Wen away. Grande was visibly shaken by the encounter.
Erivo and Yeoh, 63, were seen comforting Grande immediately after the incident. Other videos captured Erivo shouting, "Let her go," at Wen. The co-stars continued down the red carpet, holding Grande’s hands.
Wen himself posted on his Instagram story on Thursday, stating he was "free after having been arrested." He has a history of approaching celebrities at events, previously jumping on stage at concerts for Katy Perry, The Weekno, and The Chainsmokers.
Grande has not yet publicly commented on the incident. She, Erivo, and Yeoh are currently on a global press tour for Wicked: For Good, which is scheduled for release on Friday, November 21.
In a recent interview with Today, Grande spoke highly of her co-star, calling it the "greatest privilege" of her professional life to perform with Erivo. She also praised Erivo as the "best singer in the whole world."
