An 8-year-old boy, Sritej, was injured in a stampede at the premiere of Allu Arjun’s film ‘Pushpa 2’ last year. He was recently shifted from a private hospital in Hyderabad to a neuro rehabilitation center. The hospital reported that Sritej can now eat on his own and no longer needs oxygen or respiratory support.
Sritej’s Condition After the Incident
The stampede occurred on December 4, 2024, at a theater in Hyderabad during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2’, leaving Sritej seriously injured. People nearby tried to save him by giving CPR before he was rushed to the hospital. Doctors said Sritej’s memory was affected, and his condition was critical. He spent four months in the hospital and is now being moved to a neuro rehab center for specialized care.
The incident had a profound impact on Sritej’s family; his mother lost her life in the stampede. The event shocked both the film industry and fans. Hospital doctors noted that Sritej’s condition is gradually improving.
Support from Allu Arjun and the Film Team
Following the incident, Allu Arjun and the ‘Pushpa 2’ team provided Sritej’s family with ₹2 crore in financial assistance. Allu Arjun expressed his condolences to the family. The Telangana government also announced financial help for Sritej’s family.
Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, in connection with the incident but was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court the next day. He later received regular bail. The incident raised concerns about security arrangements during the film’s release.
