Puig and Florimón homer in the victory of the Bulls over the Chosen

Yasiel Puig and Pedro Florimón disappeared the ball from the park, Bryan Abreu looked intractable and the Toros del Este defeated the Leones del Escogido with a score of 3-1, in a match held this Thursday at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium.
Puig hit the first homer of his career in Dominican baseball at the height of the sixth inning and an inning later, he came second in the career of Florimón, who had not hit a home run since the 2014-15 season.
With the victory, the Bulls (10-13), cut a streak of 3 consecutive defeats, tied for fourth position with the Tigres and Lions and took advantage in the particular series with the hairy ones (3-2).

Bulls right-hander Bryan Abreu (1-1, 1.74) claimed his first career victory in the league after throwing 5 solid 2-hit, 5-strikeout scoreless innings. He was followed by relievers Jhan Mariñez, Anthony Gose, Tim Peterson, James Hoyt, Fernando Abad and Josh Lueke, who posted his first save of the tournament. Overall, the orange bullpen pitched 4 one-run innings and 5 strikeouts.
Scarlet starter Cristopher Molina (0-0, 2.33) went without a decision after pitching 4 2/3 innings in which he allowed 2 hits, allowed 3 walks and struck out 3. The loss went to reliever Pedro Strop ( 1-1, 7.50), who allowed a home run in an inning in which he struck out one.

The races 

The Bulls broke the ice at the start of the sixth inning, when Yasiel Puig hit a solo home run.

In the opening of the seventh act and with a teammate on board, Pefro Florimón hit a home run to extend the actions 3-0 in favor of the visitors.
The Lions scored their only run in the close of the ninth inning, when Aderlin Rodriguez grounded out to shortstop with a runner on third who scored.
For the Bulls, Jesús Sánchez 4-1, Yasiel Puig 4-2 with a run scored and an RBI and Pedro Florimón 2-1 with a run scored and 2 produced. For the Lions, Francisco Urbaez 4-1, Aderlin Rodríguez 4-1 with an RBI, Yainer Díaz 3-2 and Jimmy Paredes 1-1.
Prior to today’s game, the Lions of El Escogido presented a recognition to the bullfighting pitching coach Phil Regan, who led the red team to the 87-88 and 88-89 crowns, in addition to the 1988 Caribbean Series held in Santo Domingo.
The Bulls return to the Corral this Friday to receive the visit of the Tigres del Licey, in a game scheduled for 7:30 PM.
