The Dominican Republic did not give up and managed to reduce the Puerto Rican advantage to just two (75-73) with 3:11 minutes left in the game. The Dominicans dominated on the boards, taking 54 rebounds (35 offensive) but they were unable to make it in crucial moments, allowing Puerto Rico to take their first victory in the continental competition.

“It was a very physical game.
