Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have their sights set on one of Portuguese football’s rising talents, Benfica striker Gonçalo Ramos, with firm intentions of adding him to their ranks during this transfer window. According to sources close to the negotiations, the signing is in the final stages and everything indicates that the transfer is nearing completion.
Transfers journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the two clubs have reached an agreement on the transfer of the young Portuguese striker. The complications of payment terms and compliance with Financial Fair Play appear to have been satisfactorily overcome, paving the way for an operation that would cost around €80m.

However, some media outlets are also suggesting that there is an alternative in case the final transfer isn’t completed this year. This is a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option, which would allow PSG to welcome the forward talent into their ranks for a season and evaluate his performance before making a final decision on his future.
The striker of the future
Barely 22 years old, Gonçalo Ramos has excelled in Portuguese football with great performances for Benfica, demonstrating both his goalscoring abilities and his ability to create danger in opponents’ space. His move to PSG would be an important addition to the Luis Enrique-managed side who are constantly looking to strengthen their squad to compete at the highest level of European football.
Gonçalo Ramos’ move to Paris could have a domino effect on the transfer market as the departure of the young Portuguese striker would leave a vacancy on the arrival of Benfica attack which the Portuguese club must close with a new signing.
