PSG: Pochettino confirmed that Messi will not be available

The technical director of Paris Saint Germain (PSG), the Argentine Mauricio Pochettino, confirmed this Friday that Lionel Messi will be out this Saturday when his team, leaders of Ligue 1, visit Bordeaux in the south of France for the thirteenth date.

“Leo Messi is not available for tomorrow’s game,” said the Rosario coach, who confirmed that the star will attend the call of the Argentine team for the imminent double date of the South American Qualifiers of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

“He will go with the Argentine National Team and we will see if he can play,” said the PSG coach in relation to the matches against Uruguay, next Friday in Montevideo, and Brazil, on Tuesday 16 in San Juan.

Messi, 34, will complete his second consecutive absence this Saturday after being replaced at halftime of the game against Lille, a week ago, due to physical discomfort.

The “Albiceleste” captain did not participate in the draw with Red Bull Leipzig in Germany for the European Champions League on Wednesday and traveled to Madrid during the week to be treated at a clinic for his hamstring and left knee pain.

Shortly before Pochettino’s announcement at a press conference, the club issued a statement in which it noted that Messi continued with his special care at the Camp des Loges training center, on the outskirts of the French capital.
