PSG: Leonardo contradicts the team over Messi’s contract

This Saturday, Leonardo, sports director of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) firmly denied the information of the newspaper L’Équipe about the contract of Lionel Messi.

While his recruitment last August aroused many fantasies, the sports daily devoted its front page to the salary of the Argentinian super star. According to the media, Messi would touch “at least 110 million euros over three years” thanks to a loyalty bonus. Angry, Leonardo wanted to correct certain information: “The duration of the contract is two years and not three”.

“We didn’t like it. This is very far from reality, in terms of time and figures. There are confidentiality clauses, but I can say that this is not the truth, ”the manager told reporters, ahead of the press conference by coach Mauricio Pochettino.

The coach used a very aggressive tone: “It’s a lack of respect. The timing, I do not understand, but it is your problem (to the journalists, editor’s note). But the content, we do not miss it like that, ”he insisted.

The player is due to make his debut on Sunday in the Paris enclosure against Lyon, on the occasion of the 6e Ligue 1 day.
