A familiar story unfolds for young football talent. Goalkeeper Arnau Tenas, who recently played for Paris Saint-Germain, has found a new home. The Spanish shot-stopper is the newest signing for Villarreal. He put pen to paper on a four-year deal. This contract will keep him with the club until 2029. Both clubs confirmed the move this Thursday.

Tenas, 24, had a tough time breaking into the first team in Paris. He was the third-choice keeper for the French champions. Gianluigi Donnarumma of Italy and Matvey Safonov from Russia were ahead of him. In two seasons at PSG, he only played eight games. He joined PSG for free in 2023. Before that, he came up through the ranks at FC Barcelona.
The competition only grew tougher for Tenas. New signings like Renato Marin and Lucas Chevalier arrived. These additions pushed the Olympic gold medalist, who represented Spain at the Paris 2024 Games, even further down the Parisian goalkeeper lineup. This happened even as Gianluigi Donnarumma himself saw his usual role shift at times.
Despite limited appearances, Tenas did taste success in Paris. In his first season, he played six matches in Ligue 1. He helped PSG win two major titles. These included the league championship and the French Cup. During his time there, he was teammates with Portuguese stars Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, João Neves, and Gonçalo Ramos. His move to Villarreal offers a fresh start and a chance for more regular playing time.
