Argentine striker Mauro Icardi, on loan from Paris SG to Galatasaray last season, has definitely signed for the Turkish club, PSG announced this Friday on its website without specifying the duration of the contract or the conditions of the transfer.
“Loaned to Galatasaray in September 2022, Mauro Icardi had a successful season scoring 23 goals in 26 games in all competitions, and won a Turkish champion title,” the Parisian team explained in the statement.
The 30-year-old forward established himself as one of the leaders of the Istanbul team, along with the Uruguayans Fernando Muslera and Lucas Torreira.
Icardi, who had a contract with PSG until June 2024, was loaned to Galatasaray last September after two disappointing years at the French capital club.
Next season he will share attack with the Ivorian international Wilfried Zaha, former goalscorer for Crystal Palace, and with the Congolese, former Spanish Villarreal player Cédric Bakambu.
Both signed for Galatasaray at the end of July.
