San Cristóbal, in women, and the Hermanas Mirabal province, in men, advanced undefeated to the semifinal series of the National Sand Volleyball Tournament, which will conclude this Wednesday on the courts of that exciting modality of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center with 100,000 pesos in prizes.
San Cristobal Alondra Reyes and Esmeralda Ramírez obtained their third victory of the fair by defeating Britney Fernández and Solenny Encarnación, from the National District, 2-0 (21-17, 21-13) on Tuesday.
Previously, Reyes and Ramírez easily beat Yascarly Cruz and Angelis Betancourt (Hato Mayor) 21-6, 21-0.
The duo made up of Hayerling de Jesús Goris and Oscar Martínez added two victories to the one they had obtained yesterday and now have an immaculate 3-0 record.
In their first game of the day they beat 16-21, 21-14, 15-13 the duo made up of Ezequiel Toribio and Alejandro Flores, from Santiago, in what many interpreted as an early final.
In the afternoon De Jesús Goris and Martínez reported Elvis Contreras and Wilber Andrés, Bahoruco, with a slate 22-20, 21-11.
In other women’s results of the preliminary round, Alanna Martínez and Berónica De Oleo, Bahoruco, delivered the second setback of the day to the Haitian Cruz and Betancourt 21-10, 21-15.
The Santo Domingo team, made up of Kealey Jiménez and Edilí Coronado, defeated the couple Coralis Hernández and Madeline Gil 21-13, 21-16.
In the men’s tournament, Rayner Sarmiento and Raymer Bautista, from La Romana, narrowly beat 15-21, 21-10, 15-12 against the duo made up of Alex Vega and Juan Lorenzo, from San Cristóbal.
The National Beach Volleyball Tournament is organized by the Dominican Volleyball Federation, chaired by Alexis García.
