Promipyme grants more than RD $ 100 million in loans to women entrepreneurs

The National Council of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Promipyme) delivered more than RD $ 100 million pesos in loans to women entrepreneurs whose businesses are operating in active productivity. They will also receive benefits in financing, support and advice.

This initiative is part of the support for the campaign “Living without violence is possible”, of the Ministry of Women regarding the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, according to a statement from the organization.

The note details that Porfirio Peralta, general director of Promipyme, granted an amount of RD $ 103,706,000 to some 1,129 beneficiaries, members of the industrial, commercial and services sectors, who have businesses of bales, upholstery, textiles, grocery stores, clothing by catalogs, blacksmithing , beauty salons, hairdressers, various repairs, shoe stores, rentals, crafts, assembly of events, among others.

"We are convinced that by creating favorable financial conditions, women will be able to generate income for themselves and their families, achieving economic freedom that will allow them to build their future with emotional stability.", Peralta highlighted.

The Minister for Women said that the delivery of these loans to women entrepreneurs is a way to contribute to the prevention and economic reparation of violence against women.

The note highlights that the participation of women in the micro, small and medium-sized enterprises sector is fundamental for the productive development of the country. It indicates that 60% of the loans granted in this management of Promipyme belong to women entrepreneurs, for an amount of RD $ 6,120,464,664.71 and 7,344 active clients.
