Racing played one of its best games of the year this Sunday in Santa Fe, danced 4 to 0 against Colón and added their second win in a few days since they had just beaten Ñublense of Chile by the same result on Wednesday in the Copa Libertadores.
Fernando Gago’s team was a picture and was already leading by three before 40 minutes, taking advantage of the atypical untidiness shown by Sabalero, a team that has been characterized by its sobriety since the arrival of Néstor Gorosito. Before the Academy, he recently added his third loss in 19 games with Pipo in command (5 wins, 11 draws).
Racing’s goals were scored by maxi romero at 12 minutes and gabriel hauche at 29, both assisted by Juan Nardoniex-Union; Nicholas Oroz at 37 and Facundo Muraex-Colón, at 92, after a pass from maxi moralez.
The victory stretched the good moment of Racing in the League, where he has gone 6 games without losing (3 wins) and is adjusting after the bad performance he had between April and May, when he reached 7 without winning (5 losses). The Academy has 30 points and was three places behind South America.
Colón, who must add to increase his average for next year (it has the fourth worst), it stayed at 24 units, seven from the last place, owned by Arsenal.
Gago innovated with a line of three in the background with the kids Tomás Avilés (19 years old) and Santiago Quirós (20; fifth game in the First Division) flanking Gonzalo Piovi. Quirós, a left-handed player born in Avellaneda, played a great game and excelled in handling the ball from the bottom. With a precise ball from him, the first goal was originated. The kid enabled Nardoni -he made the right wing and had a great game- and the ex-Tatengue sent the center for Romero.
Columbus was shocked by the level and voracity of the visit and had almost no reaction. To top it off, the 2-0 came after a nap by Leonel Picco with the ball, taken advantage of by the restless Jonathan Gómez. When the midfielder woke up, Hauche was already taking an unassailable right hand from outside the area.
The third came after another nice academic fiddling, capitalized by Oroz, increasingly established in the team. The skilled 29-year-old lefty, who has spent his career on loan, he finally found his place in Racing and has everything to occupy the place left vacant by Paraguayan Matías Rojas with his exit to Brazilian soccer.
After the dance of the first half, Gorosito was forced to shake his own. He made four changes at halftime and the Sabalero went for the heroic, always led by the skilful Facundo Farias, still recovering its level after a long inactivity. It was his fifth game of the year.
All the spaces left by the offensive search of the Sabalero, enhanced by the Rafael Delgado sent off at minute 67 for a kick to the ground against Nardoniwere only taken advantage of in stoppage time by Racing, which after several poorly resolved cons put the fourth with a Gabriel Rojas-Moralez-Mura combination.
Racing is definitely in a good mood and will try to prolong his mood this Wednesday, from 7:30 p.m., when they receive San Lorenzo in Avellaneda. Columbus, meanwhile, will not have it easy to recover: visit River that same day at 9:30 p.m.
