Professional League: Estudiantes fell asleep and Sarmiento tied it

Estudiantes and Sarmiento tied 1-1 in La Plata, in a discreet match for the fifth round of the Professional League (LPF) tournament, played at the UNO stadium. The ‘pincharrata’ team continues without being able to win at home, where they barely got one point out of nine possible.

Santiago AscacĂbar put Estudiantes ahead on the scoreboard, while Lucas Melano established equality for the ‘green’ from Junin, who remains undefeated as a visitor.

In a match with an even process, Estudiantes, with good work from Zuqui and Rollheiser, went further and generated the best chances, in a duel that had an outstanding controversy: Toledo nudged Carrillo (knocked out two teeth) and not even the Referee Merlos on the field or Diego Abal in the VAR interpreted it as a foul.

Estudiantes opened the account when Ascacíbar volleyed the ball and goalkeeper Sebastián Meza could not control it. At a disadvantage, Sarmiento pushed in search of equality and had his prize after a failed clearance by Zaid Romero that Toledo headed into the middle and Melano pushed on the same goal line.
