Professional League: Defense and Tigre tied 0-0 in a final full of controversy

In a controversial ending, Defense and Justice and Tigre equalized 0-0, in a game that could have ended with a victory for the visitors: at the last moment, the referee Fernando Espinoza, at the request of the VAR, annulled a maneuver by the scorer Mateo Retegui that had finished with a shot to the net and that would have meant the victory for Tigre.

Beyond that circumstance and Retegui being annulled in equal conditions midway through the second half, Defense and Tigre played an attractive match, in which both lacked polishing the forcefulness so that the match had at least one pair of goals

In the first period, Sebastián Beccacece’s team did things better, because they pressed well in the central zone and neutralized the rises of the rival’s leading markers, Lucas Blondel and Sebastián Prieto. Defense had two clear opportunities, both at the feet of Andrés Ríos, his most dangerous value. The former River Plate player hit a cross shot that went just wide and then, after a rebound by goalkeeper Roffo off a shot by Alanís, the striker was unable to resolve due to the quick reaction of the goalkeeper.

In the second half, Tigre improved in midfield and had several chances, especially with the two chances that Retegui converted, but the VAR ended up drowning out his cry.
