Priyanka Chaturvedi Slams Ajaz Khan’s House Arrest Show Over Obscene Content Controversy

Ajaz Khan is in hot water over a raunchy episode from his reality show ‘House Arrest’. The controversy sparked after a clip from the show surfaced online, prompting a backlash from viewers and social media users. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has also weighed in on the issue, expressing her disapproval. The clip shows Ajaz Khan asking contestants to demonstrate various sex positions, which many have deemed obscene. In one particularly explicit scene, contestant Gahna Vashisht is seen acting out sex positions with other contestants at Ajaz’s request.

Priyanka Chaturvedi Takes a Stand

Priyanka Chaturvedi has taken to social media to voice her concerns, stating that she has raised the issue in Parliament’s standing committee and is awaiting a response. She questioned why certain apps, such as Ullu and Alt Balaji, were exempt from the recent ban on 18 OTT platforms that were found to be streaming obscene content. The MP pointed out that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had blocked several apps in March 2024 for distributing pornographic material, but Ullu and Alt Balaji were surprisingly left untouched.

The Controversy Unfolds

The controversy surrounding ‘House Arrest’ began when the show’s explicit content went viral on social media, prompting widespread criticism from viewers. The show, which airs on OTT platform Ullu and YouTube, has been accused of promoting obscenity. Many have taken to social media to express their outrage, with some calling for stricter regulations on OTT platforms. The incident highlights the ongoing debate about the need for greater oversight of online content and the responsibility of platforms to ensure that their content adheres to societal norms.
