Prithvi Shaw has played wonderful innings in the Ranji Trophy. He scored 379 runs in an Elite Group-B match. Playing for Mumbai, he achieved this record score against Assam. This is the second highest individual score in Ranji Trophy history.

Prithvi Shaw scored 379 runs in his innings playing 382 balls. That is, his hit rate was almost equal to 100. He hit 49 fours and 4 sixes in this inning. Due to this inning, he broke the 32-year-old record of Sanjay Manjrekar who played the second highest innings in the Ranji Trophy. Manjrekar scored 377 against Hyderabad in 1991 while playing for Mumbai.

Prithvi Shaw lost the record for playing the largest innings in the Ranji Trophy in this match. This registry is registered in the name of Bhausaheb Nimbalkar. Nimbalkar played an unbeaten innings of 443 against Kathiwad while playing for Maharashtra in 1948-49. However, due to innings from him, Shaw crossed the Ranji Trophy highest score of many veterans. He surpassed veterans like Vijay Merchant (359), VVS Laxman (353), Cheteshwar Pujara (352) and Sunil Gavaskar (340).

Due to his wonderful innings, Prithvi Shaw has also achieved a unique record in domestic cricket. He is the first player to have scored a century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, two centuries in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and three centuries in the Ranji Trophy. At present, for a year now, Prithvi Shaw is performing well in domestic cricket, though despite this he has not been able to find a place in the Indian team.
