Prince Henry believes that King Charles III’s illness could bring his family closer together

“I love my family,” Enrique said in his first public comments on the 75-year-old king’s health.

Harry is in Canada with his wife, actress Meghan Markle, for a year of training ahead of the Invictus Games, an event he is organizing for wounded military veterans.

When asked whether Charles III’s illness. could contribute to the reconciliation of the family, Henry replied: “Yes, I’m sure.”

The 39-year-old prince did not want to provide any further information about his father’s health. “It’s between him and me,” he said.

Due to the dispute with the royal family, Enrique resigned from his official duties in 2020 and moved to California, where he lives with his wife and two small children. From then on, both sharply criticized the British monarchy in interviews and in a documentary series on Netflix.

“I have more trips planned that would take me to the United Kingdom, so I will see my family as often as possible,” he said in an interview with ABC this Friday.

He also stated that he has considered applying for US citizenship, although it is not currently one of his priorities.

Charles’ diagnosis came 17 months into his reign, which began after the death of his 96-year-old mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022.
