Prince Harry, 41, and Meghan Markle, 44, enlisted their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, for a recent Archewell foundation event. The family helped prepare and pack meals for Los Angeles residents experiencing food insecurity.
The collaboration was with Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA), a non-profit community kitchen. This effort provides fresh, high-quality meals to Angelenos facing difficulties.
An official statement on Archewell’s website confirmed the event. "With the start of the season of giving, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, alongside the Archewell team, joined Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA) to prepare and pack meals for community members facing food insecurity," the statement read.
The meals are destined for local schools, shelters, senior centers, and other community organizations. Archewell emphasized its commitment to "putting compassion into action," serving communities locally and globally.
Photos from the outing showed Harry, Meghan, Archie, and Lili working together. They were seen serving and shaping cookie dough, all wearing OBKLA baseball caps.
Meghan captioned photos from the event on her Instagram stories, stating, "Show up, do good." The post was dated Wednesday, November 25.
The foundation works year-round, but the holiday season holds special importance for contributing to those in need. Archewell’s statement concluded by celebrating individuals who ensure no one is left behind during the holidays.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex established their non-profit, named after Archie, in 2020. This followed their decision to step back from their roles as active members of the royal family.
Harry and the former Suits actress moved from England to California with Archie at that time. Lilibet was born in the Golden State in June 2021.
Meghan reflected on motherhood and her new normal in a November profile with Harper’s Bazaar. "I’m a mom with kids in that age, where they’re just constantly learning something new," she shared. "I see them facing things that feel completely insurmountable every day. But you can remember and say, ‘I know it seems really hard right now, but trust me, it’ll be so easy soon.’ I can give myself the same grace as a founder. There’s no such thing as perfection. I can make mistakes too."
Beyond Archewell, Meghan manages her lifestyle brand, As Ever. She also hosts the podcast “Confessions of a Founder,” produces programs for Netflix, and stars in the docuseries With Love, Meghan for the streaming platform.
She told Harper’s Bazaar, "My office is right next to the kitchen, and I love being able to work from home. It’s such a luxury, and Lili often comes and sits on my lap when I’m in the middle of a meeting, whether it’s about my brand finances or something creative."
Harry and Meghan were also expected to celebrate Thanksgiving at home on Thursday, November 26. Meghan had posted a photo of her uncooked turkey on Instagram stories on Tuesday, November 25. She captioned it, "Let the ‘game’ begin. Get it? #momjokes."
